Meet Stephanie

I’ve experienced first-hand, the power of an Iyengar Yoga practice.

I had chronic and debilitating back pain and was terrified of doing anything that could make it worse. Over the course of a decade, I went to numerous medical professionals and hoped desperately that one of them would ‘fix’ me.

And then FINALLY, I discovered Iyengar Yoga. 

Iyengar Yoga offered me a challenging and rewarding way to move my body, but more importantly it taught me how to respond to my body’s nuances.

It was by no means a ‘quick fix’ but the practice was engaging and made me feel safe and supported. The teaching was also incredibly empowering and I witnessed myself becoming physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger.

Since becoming a teacher, I’ve been able to channel my passion for Iyengar Yoga into helping others. I especially love teaching students who think they could never do yoga!

  • Yes! All you need is a device with a screen (for example a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) and a decent internet connection.

  • For best results, I recommend practicing 2- 3 times a week.

  • Find a spot in your home where you can lay out your yoga mat, and if possible, choose a spot with access to a clear portion of wall. Then, stand your body upright and swing your arms out to the side in all directions. That’s it. If you have enough space for your body, you'll have enough space for yoga! And even if your hands touch a wall, the ceiling, or a piece of furniture, you'll still be fine.

  • In order to benefit from the material presented in this course, the expectation is that you can get up and down from the floor with relative ease.

    If this isn’t the case for you or if you are concerned that you may not be able to keep up, please reach out to me in advance of signing up. I can help you decide whether this course is a good fit, or if perhaps there’s another, more appropriate way for us to work together.

  • This course is not a therapeutic program.

    Because yoga is a holistic art, you may very well experience therapeutic benefits but the course itself is designed as an introduction to Iyengar Yoga and for general health and well being.

  • Dedicated yoga props are handy and can make your yoga experience more enjoyable, but they are not required. It is possible to improvise using common household items instead of classic yoga props.

    That said, a fully stocked prop kit will include 1 yoga mat, 2 yoga bricks, 1 yoga strap, 4 yoga blankets, 1 bolster, and if you are really keen, you might also want 1 yoga chair and 2 shoulderstand boards.
